Cult Room: Lost in Translation
In this 20th edition of the Festival, Sala de Culto brings together two sessions dedicated to unusual forms of audiovisual translation.
"Kung Fu à Portuguesa" (1974), a Taiwanese martial arts film, is presented with the delirious Portuguese subtitles attributed to Raúl Solnado and Pedro Bandeira Freire, which completely ignore the original dialogue.
"A Teia do Gelo" (2012), by Nicolau Breyner, is screened in its rare English version, shot simultaneously with the Portuguese one in an attempt to break into the international market.
