Jorge, an ambitious young man, embezzles money from the company where he works, hoping to get rich quickly. When his boss discovers the theft and Jorge fears his life is in danger, he flees to the mountains, where a violent snowstorm causes an accident that leaves him stranded. Lost in the snow, he stumbles upon an old house and believes he has finally found shelter. But nothing is as it seems: mysterious corpses appear, knife-wielding shadows haunt the corridors, doors slam shut on their own, and strange women emerge in the dead of night. When the Devil is on the loose, anything can happen.
Filmed simultaneously in Portuguese and English, the film was born from Nicolau Breyner's ambition to take Portuguese cinema beyond national borders. The result is a unique blend of thriller, Gothic horror and exploitation cinema, with the irresistible appeal of a cult classic.
