Submissions are open all year round for MOTELX. The deadline for each year’s edition is 15 June
.Due to the current health crisis related to Coronavirus - COVID 19, MOTELX has decided to extend its deadline for Portuguese submissions to the MOTELX Award - Best Portuguese Horror Short Film 2020 / Méliès d'argent to 2 August.
Submissions to MOTELX are made via FilmFreeway, using the link filmfreeway.com/MOTELX
, except submissions of Portuguese productions or co-productions with a majority of Portuguese participation which shall be made exclusively by filling the form available at the top of this page.

The reception of the screener will be acknowledged, to the email address written on the submission form, up to two weeks after submission.
You don’t need to send anything else. If your film is selected you will be asked for all required promotional material.
The deadline for a film to be considered for each year’s edition is 15 June
. Submissions posted or received after that date can only be considered for the following year’s edition.
