Entries are now open for the Monster Contest, dedicated to the best horror characterisations, which this year is part of Monster Day during the Festival's 20th edition.
MOTELX opens entries for the Monster Contest, a competition dedicated to the creation and presentation of horror universe characterisations. The initiative is part of Monster Day, on 5th September, at Cinema São Jorge, a celebration dedicated to the genre's most iconic monsters.
The contest calls for creativity: original monsters, creatures from films, series, anime, video games, comics or books — vampires, zombies, demons, werewolves, serial killers and other figures from the horror imagination. Judging criteria include originality, artistic and technical quality of the characterisation, complexity of the costume, and stage presence during the presentation moment before the jury and the audience.
Entry is individual and free, with no age restriction. Participants under 18 must register through a legal guardian, who must be present during participation in the event.
Entries are open until 31st August, and will be confirmed by 1st September or until the maximum number of valid entries is reached.
The winner receives a prize of €500, plus a Festival merchandising kit.
