As part of the programming for its 18th edition, MOTELX announces the AI Horror Short Films Showcase, a special section dedicated exclusively to short films created with Artificial Intelligence tools.
This pioneering initiative, which MOTELX developed in partnership with Liquid Sky Artistcollective, focuses on this divisive issue, which is the inevitable integration of Artificial Intelligence in our lives, and aims to raise awareness of the possibilities of this technology when applied to the creation of horror cinema. The AI Horror Short Films Showcase aims to explore the new frontiers of cinematic creativity, revealing how Artificial Intelligence tools can be a powerful resource in the hands of visionary filmmakers. Avoiding the questionable possibilities offered by deepfakes and the simulated presence of real actors, this section will focus on the creative use of contemporary technology, adapted to the production of genre films with all its strengths of originality and innovation. It will be a realm where Artificial Intelligence serves as a collaborator in the creative process, pioneering new paths for visual, aesthetic and narrative expression in horror cinema.
Until June 30th, we will bring together the best short films made using AI, which will be shown in this cutting-edge section to debut at the 2024 edition of MOTELX, which will take place from September 10th to 16th, at Cinema São Jorge.
