The 19th edition of MOTELX's program focuses intensely on the female condition and the representation of women in horror cinema, with the creation of the Noémia Delgado Award for Outstanding Women in Horror, which will be granted to Gale Anne Hurd, a prominent Hollywood producer responsible for numerous genre film classics.

In this 19th edition of MOTELX, we present the newly established Noémia Delgado Award for Outstanding Women in Horror, an honour created to establish a well-deserved tribute to the great female creative figures of our universe, named after the most excellent, innovative and outstanding creator of Portuguese fantastic cinema - Noémia Delgado (1933–2016).

Promoted by Thumb Media, the first edition of the Digital Film Festival, taking place on September 10 and 11, emerges as a space for exchange and innovation among various audiovisual content producers.

Portuguese horror takes centre stage at the 19th edition of MOTELX, and a particular emphasis on the female condition: the brand-new Noémia Delgado Award for Remarkable Women in Horror, honouring Gale Anne Hurd as Guest of Honour. In international films, we have plenty of stars like Marion Cotillard, John Malkovich, Paul Rudd, Selton Mello and Jenny Ortega. The horror is coming: September 9th to 15th at Cinema São Jorge.
