Talk With Takashi Miike

Takashi Miike joined us last night on live streaming for a talk with the MOTELX audience.
Considered as one of the greatest directors in genre cinema, he told us how he had the unique opportunity to collaborate with the brand Louis Vuitton during the pandemic to present a new men’s collection in a spectacular fashion show inspired by his film “Ichi the Killer” (Fashion Show).

For his upcoming feature film, the director didn’t reveal many details but told us it will be a more traditional film, with a few elements of horror but far from the violence seen in “First Love”.

Known essentially for bizarre and ultra violent films, Miike’s career is very extensive and varied. The director, who has also proved to be very talented in other genres, such as musicals or family movies, revealed during the talk that one of his next big projects will be a television series for children. His upcoming target audience will be kids between 3 and 6 years old to offset all the violence of his previous films.

These were some of the highlights of the talk with Takashi Miike, which was moderated by Evrim Ersoy.
