In partnership with the Portuguese Cultural Center - Camões I.P. and Utopia - UK Portuguese Film Festival, MOTELX will be, for the first time, in the UK to present two special screenings.

The first screening will take place in Edinburgh, in partnership with the University of Edinburgh, for a special Solveig Nordlund evening at the Summerhall. The Swedish director, with several Portuguese productions, will present on 5 December, at 19h00, her film adaptations of J.G. Ballard stories - the short film "Journey to Orion" and the feature "Low-flying Aircraft", screened at MOTELX 2018 in the Lost Room section. Entry is free but registration is required through the following link.

In London, on 9 December, the Festival will present an academic screening at St. John Bosco College with the short film "Insanium" by Rui Pedro Sousa, which screened as part of the MOTELX Award - Best Portuguese Horror Short Film / Méliès d'argent competition in 2018. A very special afternoon that will show a younger audience the challenges of genre cinema and allow for a discussion with a potential new and upcoming generation of filmmakers.
