With the full programme being announced in a few days, MOTELX reveals some more news for its 9th Edition.
«Knock Knock», the latest from director
Eli Roth, will have the honour of closing the festival, on 13 September.

A surprising tale presenting Keanu Reeves, better known as the protagonist of the Matrix saga, in a departure from his usual style, which brings a special touch to this horror B classic remake.
Director Eli Roth was also a guest of honour at MOTELX 2011.
Kim Basinger,
Kevin Bacon or
Salma Hayek are some of the celebrities starring in some of the best horror films of the year shown at MOTELX. The star of «Nine 1/2 Weeks» brings one of her best performances in
«I am Here»; Bacon is Sheriff Kretzer in
«Cop Car», who hunts two children in a deadly game, and south american Salma Hayek stars in
«Everly», playing a woman stuck in her apartment, with a bounty on her head.

Unfortunately Roger Corman won't be present this year due to professional reasons, but other guests will join us in September, starting by South African director
Richard Stanley to present the documentary
«Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley's Island of Dr. Moreau», by David Gregory, about the incredible behind the scenes stories of «The Island of Dr. Moreau», with Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer.
Stanley will also have a retrospective of his work, with screenings of
«Hardware» (1990) and
«Dust Devil» (1992), films that made him famous 25 years ago. MOTELx also brings names such as Axelle Carolyn, producer and director of the anthology
«Tales of Halloween»,
Miguel Ángel Vivas, director of the first Portuguese Zombie short «I’ll See You in My Dreams», who will present
«Extinction», Paul Hyett with
«Howl», Pau Teixidor with
«Purgatory», Julien Seri with
«Night Fare», Abner Pastoll with
«Road Games», among others.
Christopher Lee, the horror icon who left us earlier this year, will be paid homage with the screening of
«Eugenie», by Jess Franco, chosen and presented by Stéphane du Mesnildot, author and critic in the prestigious magazine Les Cahiers du Cinéma, who will also host a masterclass based on the late actor.

And because horror can also be fun, MOTELX brings the comedies
«Burying the Ex» (2014), from master Joe Dante, and
«What We Do in the Shadows» (2014), from Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, the story of three vampires who deal with day-do-day problems while living in the modern world.

Among the almost 80 films, short and features, there is also a luxurious Japanese selection with the latest from Sion Sono,
«TAG» (2015), and Hideo Nakata,
«Ghost Theater» (2015), joining previous announced
«Yakuza Apocalypse», by Takashi Miike.
The horror marathon begins, as announced earlier, with the return to horror of
M. Night Shyamalan in the national premiere of
«The Visit» (A Visita).
Horror for everyone is always MOTELX's promise and this year won't be any different!
