“Scream”, Portrait of a Generation

15 SEP |11h00
Room 2
Audience:Todas as idades
Duration: 1h15

Considering that the stories and images we produce today will be reflected in the culture of present and future generations, how do we analyse the sequel Scream?

Taking one of the greatest pop culture successes of the late 1990s and the first two decades of the 2000s as our starting point, we want to propose a critical revisiting of the work, to collectively build a bridge between narrative and society, discussing gender stereotypes, the propagation of preconceived models of the representation of women in audiovisual narratives, the place of masculinity and the impact of stories on the way we idealise our existence.

The talk will be facilitated by Tota Alves and Fernanda Polacow, members and leaders of MUTIM -  Mulheres Trabalhadoras das Imagens em Movimento.
