Since this year we've decided to open and close the Festival with eco-terrors, why not warm up with a classic "Nature vs. Human"? When Melanie Daniels arrives in Bodega Bay in a quest for eligible bachelor Mitch Brenner, she is inexplicably attacked by a seagull. Suddenly, thousands of birds descend on the town, attacking children and residents randomly. Mitch and Melanie soon realise that they will have to fight for their lives against a deadly force that has no explanation and cannot be stopped, in one of the master of suspense's most memorable films where nature's revenge is devastating. Hitchcock's second foray into horror after "Psycho", in which the British director once again changes the "rules of the game". The impact on the "golden generation" of American horror cinema was tremendous - without "The Birds'', there wouldn’t have been "Night of the Living Dead", "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" or "The Fog". Celebrating the 60th anniversary of this pre-classic of the very current eco-horror!
