GUIÕES - Portuguese Language Screenplay Festival was born in 2014 with the goal of stablishing an essential bridge between Portuguese speaking scripwriters, screenwriters and cinema and audiovisual creators and producers, directors, distributors and other professionals that might be able to follow up on the produced material. Employing multiple efforts to cement the connection between the creative pole extracted from the festival and the decision-makers and professionals of the international industry, GUIÕES affirms itself increasingly as a fundamental window of Portuguese speaking cinema and audiovisual production to the world. For its 9th edition, which will happen from the 13th to the 17th of September of 2023 with activities in Cinema de São Jorge and in the Portuguese-Cinematheque in Lisbon, the festival will promote a special partnership with MOTELX - Lisbon International Horror Film Festival and together they will launch a Portuguese horror screenplay competition, as well as they will organise a variety of inatiatives around screenwriting and horror film production like workshops, masterclasses, film sessions and debates.
