What do we look for when we go out dancing?
Whatever the circumstances, it's likely that Señor Pelota has found, collected, and prepared the right record for the right moment. His career began in the 1990s, during the golden age of illegal raves, which he helped organize. He's a DJ who's also a host.
Señor Pelota delivers vibrant sets, where he masterfully and shamelessly explores different rhythmic
temperaments; from House to Disco, Electro to Funk, Acid to Techno; always with groove at his heart. His record
selection ranges from past to present, without ever taking his eye off the future.
He's performed on stages of all sizes and latitudes, both nationally and internationally: the clubs Lux Frágil and Plano B,
which he regularly visits; festivals like Boom Festival, Lisb On, and Super Bock Super Rock; He has spread his magic in cities like
London, Rio de Janeiro, Goa, Mexico City, Barcelona, and Berlin.
As a resident and music curator, he has left his mark on venues such as the Marriott Hotel, Corinthia Lisboa,
Velvet (Bairro Alto), Esperam'entrando (Zambujeira do Mar), Bar do Bruno (Baleal), and, more recently, in 2023, Praia Irmão (Caparica). But it was at the recently defunct Lounge that he held his longest and most important residency—O
"Mutante"—which now continues as a weekly program on East Side Radio.
He is addicted to the noble format of the plastic disc and has an impressive—and enviable—collection that
covers truly eclectic territories, which led him to manage the Bloop Vinyl Shop
for two years.
OITO//OITO is the most recent and active project he's shared with Dupplo since 2019, where they produce and release
originals, as well as remixes for other artists, on their own label OITO//OITO Discos. Their most recent work is the EP "MP88" in collaboration with Mirror People.
One thing is certain: in over 25 years, behind the cymbals and commanding the dance floor, he's maintained the same smile and energy as always.
His joy is our happiness!
