After several years of reflecting and writing about cinema in general, António Araújo and José Carlos Maltez have put together some of their texts in a book dedicated to horror cinema. The result is a sharing of analyses of emblematic films and others that deserve to be discovered, divided into sub-genres and complemented by some essays. Designed not only for horror fans but also for the curious, "Olhar o Medo" is a gateway into this wonderful world of strong emotions.
António Araújo has been a cinephile since a young age, when he explored distant galaxies and travelled around in the company of a famous archaeologist. An information systems consultant by profession, he is also an enthusiastic podcaster, being the creator and mentor of "Segundo Take", a project for which he has been writing and producing weekly episodes about cinema since October 2015.
Born in Lisbon and raised south of the river Tagus, José Carlos Maltez has been a film geek for as long as he can remember. Having studied Science, it was cinema that brought him to writing, first on his personal blog "A Janela Encantada", which, since 2012, has brought together more than a thousand of film analyses. The two are co-authors of the monthly podcast "Universos Paralelos".
