MOTELX ON TOUR | SETÚBAL | 2ND EDITION

Motelx is back to Setúbal, bringing the best it has hosted over its 15 years of existence, with a programme dedicated to horror cinema, complemented with concerts and activities for the younger generation. Integrated in the municipal programme Set'Curtas, the 2nd edition of MOTELX onTour will also feature DJ sets by DJ Señor Pelota and Paulo Chinatown.

Motelx is back to Setúbal, bringing the best it has hosted over its 15 years of existence, with a programme dedicated to horror cinema, complemented with concerts and activities for the younger generation. Integrated in the municipal programme Set'Curtas, the 2nd edition of MOTELX onTour will also feature DJ sets by DJ Señor Pelota and Paulo Chinatown.

Their performances take place among the activities scheduled over 2 days, at the Lounge Bar, in charge of Café das Artes.

April 8

21h00 to 22h00 | DJ SET - SEÑOR PELOTA
André Soares aka Señor Pelota, has been on stages of all sizes and national latitudes: Lux, Gare, Ministerium, Music Box or Plano B, to the most esteemed national festivals such as Super Bock Super Rock, Sudoeste, Boom, Creamfileds, Bruch Electronic or Milhões de Festa. Alone or accompanied in musical projects (the Intelectronik with Pan Sorbe, the collective of Porto - F.R.E.I.M.A., the Glam Slam Dance in partnership with DJ Mário Valente, or more recently the BRUTUS with Rui Estevão where he edited for the first time in the compilation Op Amp Vol1 and part of the agency/editor Frenzy.

22h00 | CINEKOMIX!!! CINE-KONCERTO 2D - 3D DE EDGAR PÊRA

Music by João Lima & Maestro Cyaneto VJamming by Elizabeth Warner Edgar Pêra has been performing cine-concerts since 1990. They are unique, unrepeatable objects that serve as research laboratories for future films, remixes of films from the past, or are simply improvised visual and sound interpretations together with musicians. During this cine-concert, the filmmaker will film João Lima's musical performance live and these images will be manipulated by Elizabeth Warner, who will mix them with pre-mounted films set to music by Artur Cyaneto (Pêra's alter ego).

Ernar Nurgaliev (Kazakhstan, 2020, 84 min.) It all starts trivially - with a quarrel between a young couple. The spouses are expecting their first child and every day the situation worsens. The main hero, Dastan, cannot stand the continuous pressure from his wife. He decides to run away for just one day with his friends: an unlucky businessman and a local policeman. Together they plan to go fishing and would have succeeded, if a series of sudden and mysterious unforeseen events had not occurred.

21:30 | THE MAID Lee Thongkham (Thailand, 2020, 102')
Joy, a teenage girl, arrives in Bangkok to work as a maid. She urgently needs money to help her parents who are going through hard times in their homeland. Between cleaning the house and helping the Nawut at work, Joy witnesses strange paranormal activities at night and also has vivid nightmares. She discovers that there was a maid before her, who has since passed away, named Ploy. This is the promising feature film debut of Lee Thongkam.

Filmmaker/artist with a passion for the avantgarde and the underground
young he has enjoyed a bohemian artistic life all over the world, having resided in London, Milan, Lisbon, NYC, Hong Kong and the list goes on until he found his passion, Berlin.

Come and learn how to draw a monster! In this workshop we will give wings to our imagination and create our own monster. It may have seven heads and five eyes, or it may have fins on its ears.
