Build your own synth and take it home!
As usual, horror will take up its official residence at Cinema São Jorge but, in this edition, MOTELX goes to Beato, more specifically, to the Beato Innovation District (formerly Hub Criativo do Beato), which will be one of the hubs of the Warm-Up programming, the same one that anticipates the official start of the Festival. This year, that's where the
MOTELX AV Lab co-hosted by Liquid Sky Artistcollective will take place.
On the
6th and 7th of September, with the support of
Thomann, MOTELX and the artistic collective Liquid Sky will carry out a disruptive program that combines electronic music and horror through DIY synthesizer workshops, jam sessions, performances and underground cinema. Musicians, directors, sound designers or artists curious about VJ art installations, whether beginners or professionals, are invited to participate in this dynamic and interactive experience, led by some of the most visionary inventors in the industry, who will teach the art of painting sound landscapes and galaxies.
For now, we can announce confirmation on the workshops for the brands
Error Instruments (Netherlands), guided by
Paul Tas,
Freedom Enterprise (Portugal), by
Pedro da Silva, and
Modor Music (Belgium), by
Marcel Belmans; also the workshop-performance by Berlin-based musician, technologist and journalist
Peter Kirn, who will use the
Unreal Engine game engine for an immersive audiovisual instrument; and the exclusive showcase of the brand new synthesizer from
Erica Synths (Latvia), to be revealed to the public for the first time at the MOTELX AV Lab co-hosted by Liquid Sky Artistcollective.
