MOTELX 2026 (20th Edition): Submissions Now Open!
MOTELX celebrates two decades of horror and invites filmmakers to submit their work for the 2026 edition. Submissions open until 31 May.
Submissions are now open for the 20th edition of MOTELX. The Lisbon International Horror Film Festival returns to Cinema São Jorge from 8 to 14 September, celebrating two decades dedicated to the very best of genre cinema.
MOTELX invites filmmakers to submit their films for the 2026 selection. Welcoming all production models — from low-budget to funded projects, student films to independent co-productions — the Festival is accepting entries for feature-length, mid-length, and short films across fiction, documentary, live-action, and animation.
Submission is free of charge for Portuguese features and shorts (including co-productions with majority national participation).
