Dario Argento, the legendary master of Italian horror, is back at MOTELX

Dario Argento, the legendary master of Italian horror, is back at MOTELX to present his new film “Dark Glasses” for its national premiere.
The master of Italian horror, director Dario Argento, returns for MOTELX's 16th edition, taking place at Cinema São Jorge between 6 and 12 September.
He will present the national premiere of “Dark Glasses” (Italy, France, 2022), the cult director’s new giallo, which reunites him with his daughter Asia Argento and recovers the authorial trademarks of his legacy.  The filmmaker, who was a special guest at MOTELX's 6th edition, precisely 10 years ago, will also host a masterclass during the Festival where he will address his creative process and hold a Q&A with the audience with a brief signing session.

For Pedro Souto and João Monteiro, the artistic directors of MOTELX, Dario Argento “is the greatest legend of European horror cinema, who had a tremendous influence on North American cinema and continues to be a reference for many filmmakers, with a recent remake of “Suspiria” and a starring role in Gaspar Noé’s latest film”. Actress Ilenia Pastorelli, who embodies Diana in “Dark Glasses” will also join the Italian director at the national premiere of the film in Lisbon to look back on her role as a blind woman tormented by a serial killer.

“Dark Glasses” premiered at this year's Berlinale and represents, according to Maestro Dario Argento, the culmination of his career as an author.

The 16th edition of MOTELX - Lisbon International Horror Film Festival takes place from the 6 to 12 September, at Cinema São Jorge.
