Call for Entries: MOTELX Award - Best Portuguese Horror Script 2026

MOTELX brings back the country’s most chilling writing competition: the MOTELX Award - Best Portuguese Horror Screenplay 2026, once again recognising the best unproduced feature-length horror script in Portugal.
We are looking for those who have conquered the terror of the blank page and transformed that unrest into a story ready to take shape on the big screen. From the entries received, the selection committee will name five finalists, who will have the opportunity to present their projects in a pitching session during the 20th edition of MOTELX, taking place from 8 to 14 September at Cinema São Jorge, Lisbon. The winner will be announced during the Festival and awarded a €2,000 cash prize.
