Once a legend in the criminal underworld, Hornclaw is a hardened assassin in her 60s. Specializing in eliminating society’s scum and disillusioned with the new direction of the organization she has long served, she now faces the relentless challenges of aging. Everything changes with the arrival of Bullfight—an impetuous young man determined to learn the trade. Failing to recognize Bullfight’s true identity and intentions, Hornclaw’s routine is upended by a twist that could prove to be the most fatal of her career. Defying genre clichés, South Korean director Min Kyu-dong adapts Gu Byeong-mo’s novel of the same name into a sharp, elegant thriller where those with a past have much to fear. Featuring electrifying action sequences, the film premiered at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival.
