Michael Lawrence, an English agent with the International Narcotics Brigade, is sent to Lisbon to investigate the murder of his colleague McAndrews. He soon uncovers clues pointing to the imminent dismantling of a powerful drug-trafficking network led by Costa, a Brazilian millionaire. Shot entirely in Lisbon to stand in for the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Barcelona, this Spanish-Italian co-production never premiered in Portugal, much to the regret of Catalan director Juan Bosch, who sought to break into the national market. This crime thriller, tinged with echoes of giallo, was filmed just a few months before the 25 April 1974 Revolution and was one of the rare productions authorized to stage action scenes in emblematic locations of the capital, including the 25 de Abril Bridge and Parque Mayer.
