While watching the filming of the film adaptation of the classic fairy tale "Snow White," 15-year-old orphan Jeanne immediately succumbs to the spell of the protagonist, the captivating Cristina, whose protection she quickly becomes. Little by little, the bond between them plunges the young girl into a trap from which she may never escape. Marion Cotillard proves herself to be outstanding alongside the promising newcomer Clara Pacini, in a work of glacial and ethereal beauty that was in competition for the Golden Bear at the most recent Berlin Film Festival. The film by French director Lucile Hadžihalilović, which also features Gaspar Noé, her husband and frequent collaborator, delves into the abyss of loss and the volatile nature of the most beautiful of illusions—cinema itself.
