Sarah, a fertility doctor, is celebrating her daughter Mia's seventh birthday when a rabbit appears on their doorstep - a mysterious birthday present that delights the child, but seems to deeply disconcert her mother. As the days go by, Mia's behaviour changes, demanding to see her grandmother that she has never even met and who has been in the hospital for a long time. This insistence destabilises Sarah, as it brings up macabre secrets from the family's past. Australia seems to be leading the league of horror films about motherhood and Run Rabbit Run joins a line-up that includes Mr Babadook and Relic. Written, directed, produced and photographed by women - emphasising Sarah Snook's imperial performance ( known for her role as Shiv Roy from "Succession").
