Hong Kong is plagued by a series of brutal murders. The victims are suspects in cold cases who have never been convicted. The group of killers, self-named "The Chosen Sleuths", are vigilantes who are taking justice into their own hands. In response, the police assembles a special task force to stop the criminals. 16 years after "Mad Detective", Sean Lau returns to Wai Ka-fai's films as a gifted detective whose gift is also his tragedy - Jun Lee, once a legend in the police force, is now homeless after a nervous breakdown cost him his career. Jun joins Agent Yee in an intense battle against time, solving new and old cases in the expectation of predicting the killers' moves before it's too late. Nominated for several categories at the 41st Hong Kong Film Awards, it won Best Director, Best Actor, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography.
