March is going through a period of intense grief after the loss of his wife, Nat, victim of a respiratory illness triggered by the dense dust pollution that has long compromised Thailand's air. When her spirit returns, possessed by
the vacuum cleaner she used to use at the factory where she worked, the couple re-establishes contact, confronting a society incapable of accepting or allowing
less orthodox relationships and behaviors. Simultaneously, in a battle against the
status quo, Nat seeks a place for herself as a "useful ghost." In his first
feature film, Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke presents us with a harsh comedy,
full of symbolism and touches of political and environmental criticism. The film, which unravels the layers of repression (and dust) that surround the lives of the Thai people, had its world premiere in the Critics' Week section of the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Grand Prize.
