David returns to his hometown in Fortaleza to premiere his first feature film at a local festival, after being in Portugal for more than ten years. His stay lasts longer than expected as the country enters a lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Without a place to go, David decides to reconnect with his father - a strange person he hasn’t spoken to in a long time. While sleeping on his father’s living room couch, the young man realises that the world of Geraldo is a place of bizarre incidents which will turn his around. Known for his “Cannibal Club”, Guto Parente makes his first appearance at MOTELX, after winning 4 Awards in the International Narrative Feature section of the Tribeca Film Festival: Best Narrative, Best Performance, Best Script, and Best Cinematography.
