The Wind

The Wind

A film by Emma Tammi

USA, 2018, 86'

Elizabeth Macklin has long felt an evil presence on her pastures, but there is nothing she can do to make her husband not think they're just superstitions. When a couple settles in a decrepit house next to them, they begin to experience strange episodes and the  paranoia inside Elizabeth reveals itself again. With a greater experience in documentary filmmaking, this is Emma Tammi's first work of fiction, which throws herself headfirst into a western thriller with supernatural undertones that, like "The Witch", takes elements of American folklore to rewrite the horror genre. Emma Tammi reveals mastery in the use of silence to make us jump out of our seats, taking on influences from films such as "The Shining" and "Carrie".
"The Wind" premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2018.
