The Quake

Skjelvet

A film by John Andreas Andersen

Norway, 2018, 106'

After surviving The Wave, Kristian Eikjord and his family find themselves at the center of another natural disaster. This time, the ground beneath Oslo, Norway can’t be trusted. For geologists like Kristian, studying the daily quakes proves that it’s no longer a matter of if, but when the next catastrophic event will strike. Kristian runs against time to save his family from this imminent disaster. Based on the fear of another earthquake like the one that hit Oslo in 1904 and the fact that Norway is the northern European country with the biggest seismic activity, “The Quake” is the sequel to “The Wave”. It was once again a box office hit in its native country, making Norway the biggest competitor to the US in terms of disaster movies.
