After a night out with friends, an exhausted couple, Babak, Neda and their baby, decide to spend the night at the grand, but mysterious, Hotel Normandie. Over the course of a seemingly endless night, mysterious disturbances ruin their night's rest when Babak and Neda quickly realize they are trapped by a malevolent force that yearns for the dark secrets they have hidden from each other. Kourosh Ahari's first film is a co-production with the US, filmed in LA and spoken in Farsi, with great affinities to “The Shining”, as the synopsis indicates. The protagonist is the winner of the Best Actor Award at Cannes 2016, Shahab Hosseini in “The Salesman” by Asghar Farhadi. This is the first US-made film that can open commercially in Iran since the revolution in 1979.
