With guests - Marie Jung (Actress) and Loïc Tanson (Director) | Session 1
1838. For centuries, Luxembourg has been the scene of successive occupations and authoritarian regimes, experiencing famines and epidemics that have decimated the population. In one of the poorest regions of the north, the Graff family exercises a patriarchal rule over an isolated village. Thanks to them, the inhabitants survive the constant calamities, leaving them no choice but to obey their strict, religious, oppressive, and – often – barbaric laws. But 12-year-old Helene refuses to accept the future that awaits her within those walls and tries to escape with the help of Jon, Gaff's youngest son. 15 years later, Oona, a wild stranger, is welcomed into the village – now part of an independent country undergoing a modernisation process. What no one knows is that she’s there for one purpose, and one purpose only: to bend the patriarchy to her thirst for revenge. This western, filmed in the heart of Europe, is Loïc Tanson's fiction feature debut.
