In the 70s, the citizens of Hamburg live in constant fear when news about the repeated disappearances of several women in a similar pattern begin to surface. Thus begins one of the most complex serial killer investigations the city had ever lived until then. Fatih Akin, director of films such as "Soul Kitchen" or "In the Fade", has taken a surprising turn from his usual registry to direct his first horror feature; an adaptation of Heinz Strunk's best-selling novel "The Golden Glove" based on serial killer Fritz Honka's gruesome deeds, which premiered in competition at this year’s Berlinale. The reactions to the film have been intense, making Indiewire name it "one of the most vile serial killer films ever made".
