Through the hands of British director James Watkins – director of "The Woman in Black", "Eden Lake", and the successful TV series "Black Mirror" – we get the remake of "Speak No Evil", the brutal Danish film that won the Méliès d’argent for Best European Feature and scarred MOTELX 2022 audience with its suffocating and ruthless atmosphere. This time, we travel to the English countryside, where an American family visits the cottage of a couple they met during a summer holiday in Italy. At first, everything seems fine, but when Paddy, Ciara, and Ant, their mute son, start showing a strange and hostile behaviour, the vacation that was supposed to be an American dream quickly turns into a nightmare. With yet another disturbingly outstanding performance from Scotsman James McAvoy, star of the psychological thrillers "Split" and "Glass", "Speak No Evil" kicks off the 18th edition of MOTELX. The only question remaining is: will they be able to escape? If there's any film to awaken your appetite for a week of terror, it's this one. See you soon!
