Miriam undergoes brain surgery by a grim doctor. She is awake. And reacts with her eyes to each intervention. The surgeon is precise with the cuts – but also insensitive to her suffering. He cuts two pieces of her brain and places each of them in a jar, both labelled: Romulus and Remus. After the delicate head operation, Miriam returns home and wakes up with a new personality. She starts increasingly terrorising the daily lives of her children, who received pieces of her brain as a gift from their father.
