Two paramedics from Novo Hamburgo discover a mysterious treasure hidden in the basement of an old building. The problem is that, while trying to understand what they have found, they accidentally open a dimensional portal that unleashes a creature capable of crossing different universes. Known as The Engineer, the being is determined to reclaim the gold that belongs to it and does not seem particularly interested in negotiating. From that moment on, the paramedics find themselves caught up in a cosmic adventure where ambulances, parallel dimensions and interdimensional monsters become part of the same shift. Directed by Kapel Furman, the filmmaker behind Skull: The Mask, Remanence is a high-voltage cosmic horror combining classic monsters, science fiction and humour. The director himself describes it as a meeting between Spielberg’s Amazing Stories and Scorsese’s Bringing Out the Dead. It had its European premiere at FrightFest 2026.
