Divine plays Francine Fishpaw, a housewife in the suburbs of Baltimore with an augmented sense of smell, right in the middle of a chaotic family that berates, humiliates, rejects and mocks her on a daily basis. Between the adulterous life of her pornographer husband, her despicable and cocaine-ridden mother, her promiscuous and rebel daughter who's dating a punk rocker and a delinquent son that terrorizes the city by stomping on every woman's foot he can find, Francine's life is a living hell. But that all changes with the arrival of Todd Tomorrow, a breezy and suave gentleman that conquers more than Francine's nose. And it's through her nose that Polyester lives, with the wonderful Odorama scratch n' sniff cards that will put you right in the middle of this suburban nightmare directed with reckless abandon by the King of Trash himself, John Waters.
