Plastic Guns

Les pistolets en plastique

A film by Jean-Christophe Meurisse

France, 2024, 95'

Portuguese Premiere

Uzès, a man in his forties, is arrested while travelling to Denmark. The police suspect that he is Paul Bernardin, a murderer wanted for killing his wife and three children a few years ago. While Uzès claims to be innocent, two amateur detectives – Léa and Christine – decide to conduct their own investigation. They know the case like the back of their hands, and are certain that he is the wanted killer. Meanwhile, in Argentina, another forty-something Frenchman with a mysterious past celebrates his wedding with his beautiful young fiancée... Jean- Christophe Meurisse ("Bloody Oranges", MOTELX Audience Award 2021) stays true to a certain French tradition of satire mixed with hefty doses of macabre humour, as someone wrote, between Tarantino and Haneke. Closing film of the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes.
