Sarah and her husband Sungsoo move to an isolated house in the Korean countryside in a desperate attempt to save their crumbling marriage. But the new home contains a strange object: an unlabelled vinyl record that, when played, produces nothing but silence. After listening to it, Sarah gradually begins to lose the ability to hear male voices. As the world around her grows increasingly silent, her perception of reality also begins to fracture, and her attention turns towards the mysterious neighbour Eunbyeol. Starring Sarah Bolger, Ko Asung and Sungsoo Yune, “Nervous” is a psychological horror about isolation, desire and alienation. Directed by Abner Pastoll, who closed FrightFest in 2019 with “A Good Woman Is Hard to Find”, it opened the festival’s 2026 edition.
