Mad Max

Mad Max

Australia, 1979, 88'

In a dystopian near future, a highway patrolman cruises the Australian roads, which have become the most valued territory for criminals to go foraging for petrol and all kinds of scraps. When his wife and child die by the hands of a motorcycle gang, Max sets out across the wastelands in search of revenge. Mad Max is without a doubt one of the most influential films of the last decades and has always served as an inspiration for any horror film that is set in a destroyed world where survival is all humans care about. This session is introduced by Leigh Whannell, to whom we have asked to choose an Australian film which inflenced him.
