Pablo “El Galgo” Correa has just been released from prison when he accepts a new job for a drug cartel led by a mysterious woman known as the Godmother. The problem is that, upon discovering the true target of the operation, he realizes he has been hired to kill the very woman who runs the cartel. Forced to flee for his life, Galgo spends a relentless night navigating the streets of Isla Maciel, a working-class neighborhood on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, while trying to escape both the criminals pursuing him and a community abandoned by the police and politicians. Directed by Cris Tapia Marchiori, “Gunman” is a tense and visceral crime thriller, filmed in a single continuous take, where action choreography and urban claustrophobia transform a crime story into a physical saga of power, survival and redemption.
