Ferine

A film by Andrea Corsini

Italy, 2026, 105'

Irene is a wealthy and influential art collector who has just adopted a baby. When a sudden tragedy shatters her world, grief unleashes something primitive within her: an instinctive violence that gradually takes over her personality and her life. It is then that her path crosses with Dama, a trafficker of exotic animals, who immediately recognises Irene as a new kind of predator. A morbid bond develops between the two women, forged through fascination, power and violence, as Irene progressively abandons everything that makes her human. Starring Carolyn Bracken (“Oddity”) and Caroline Goodall (“Schindler’s List”), this Italian body horror is a feature-length adaptation of Corsini’s short film of the same name, which made an impact upon its premiere in Venice. Echoing classics such as Paul Schrader’s “Cat People”, it offers a distinctive take on trauma as a catalyst for a destructive force.
