17-year-old Gretchen reluctantly leaves her home in the United States to live with her father, who has just moved to a resort in the German Alps with his new family. When they arrive at their future home, they are greeted by Mr König, her father’s boss, who takes an inexplicable interest in Gretchen’s mute half-sister, Alma. Something doesn’t seem right in this peaceful holiday paradise. Gretchen is tormented by strange noises and bloody visions until she discovers a shocking secret that also affects her own family. After the auspicious premiere of his student film, “Luz”, which he presented at MOTELX 2018 when it was in competition, Tilman Singer takes a giant step forward in his career with this German/North American co-production featuring Hunter Schafer, from the series “Euphoria”, and Dan Stevens, from “Downton Abbey” and “The Guest” (MOTELX 2014).
