After 15 years living abroad, Amanda returns home with her French boyfriend, Martin. They arrive at her father’s farmhouse, which is located in a remote and isolated village in the south of Brazil. In the village, Amanda finds her father in a coma amid great tensions between him and the farm workers. The only doctor in the village is Helô, a young woman who resigns herself to looking after the locals. The imminent death of the farmer puts Amanda, Martin and Helô at the centre of disturbing events between the villagers and the farm owners. This Brazil, France and Argentina co-production marks the third feature film by screenwriter and director Davi Pretto and follows in the path of another Brazilian film screened last year – Daniel Bandeira’s "Property" –where social criticism cohabits with classic horror.
