Throughout the month of September, MOTELX and the Portuguese Cinematheque join forces once more to schedule screenings at the Museum of Cinema's terrace and at the Cinemateca Júnior to celebrate the bicentennial of Mary Shelley's Gothic novel publication, "Frankenstein: Or The Modern Prometheus". Thirteen years after the cycle of "Zombies" movies in 2005, Barata Salgueiro's terrace is back for a whole month dedicated to horror. In this programme you will find the classics with Boris Karloff ("Frankenstein") and Christopher Lee ("The Curse of Frankenstein"), but also variations such as the biopic about James Whale, creator of the iconic image of Mary Shelley's monster, "Gods and Monsters", or Fred Dekker's cult film "Monster Squad". All in 35mm! For our younger audiences, we will feature great movie classics such as James Whale's "The Bride of Frankenstein" or Frank Capra's "Arsenic and Old Lace", as well as contemporary animated films such as Tim Burton's "Frankenweenie" and "Hotel Transylvania" by Genndy Tartakovsky. These screenings celebrate one of the most recognized monsters worldwide.
