"The Book of Life" in Big Bad Wolf section

Jorge R. Gutiérrez’s animated film “The Book of Life” will be part of the programme for the younger audiences of MOTELX's 11th edition. The screenings will take place at the Tivoli BBVA Theater on 8 September at 10h30.
Produced by one of the great masters of genre cinema, the Mexican Guillermo del Toro, “The Book of Life” tells the story of a young bullfighter torn between meeting the expectations of his family and the pursuit of his dream. Between music and bullfighting, Manolo must cross several worlds filled with imagination and fantasy but also with many dangers, where he will have to face his greatest fears in order to be able to reunite with Mary, the love of his life.
Included in MOTELX's proposal to the Lisbon 2017 – Ibero-american capital of Culture programme, the film unfolds in the context of the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead and explores the universe of life and death in a way suitable for younger audiences.
Since 2008, the Big Bad Wolf section introduces fear as a way of playing and learning, promoting film screenings and fun activities that challenge children to face their own fears and test their courage.
We invite parents and educators to make their reservations as of now for the screenings of the film “The Book of Life” via the email festival@motelx.org.
