"Horror in Warm Land" Masterclass

A journey through several film clips will inspire a visual mapping of Latin American horror cinema, with an emphasis on Argentinian, Brazilian and Mexican cinematographies whilst integrated in their own social, economic, and political context. Based on the pioneering works of José Mojica Marins, Fernando Méndez, Juan López Moctezuma, Jean Garret, or Emilio Vieyra, issues such as tradition and hybridity will be examined, establishing affinities and singularities not only within this geographical area but also in relation to European and North-American canonical models.
